“It seems we have made a mess of ‘strangers’. Perhaps it was the way my dad chatted up grocery store workers or how my mom would earnestly introduce me to other adults when I was a little girl, but new people have never been very strange to me and, thankfully, there are always plenty of them to go around. Confident women have encouraged me, older folks have shared with me their youthful tales, and children are always sure to interrogate, but they have all made my life truly interesting. I wish to do the same in this blog, for we are all strangers until humanity rears its beautiful head.
